Saray’s Success Story: Building a Career in Healthcare
SENPH is proud to share that Saray Rodriguez has completed another important milestone in her journey, obtaining employment in her chosen healthcare career pathway.
Saray entered the SENPH program as a young participant who was still in the 12th grade while simultaneously working toward her CNA and Phlebotomy credentials. Through the program, SENPH supported her educational goals by assisting with course costs, required supplies, uniforms, and her final certification exam. Despite coming from a very low-income household, Saray remained ambitious, motivated, and committed to building a better future. In June 2026, she earned her high school diploma, while also successfully completing her healthcare training.
Saray has often spoken proudly about her father, a farmworker and the sole provider for their household. She shared that her father came to this country with the goal of providing his children and future grandchildren with the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. With support from her SENPH Career Advisor, Saray was able to navigate the steps needed to pursue her educational and career goals. While staff assistance played an important role in her journey, Saray deserves tremendous credit for her own ambition, dedication, and willingness to work toward her goals.
Saray’s employment outcome was a staff-assisted employment outcome that she and her SENPH Career Advisor began working toward in March 2026. As part of that process, SENPH provided assistance with the job application process and a mock interview designed to help Saray prepare for potential interview questions, strengthen her communication skills, build confidence, and improve her overall interview readiness. Staff also worked with her on appropriate responses and professional presentation. Saray was engaged throughout the process, receptive to feedback, and demonstrated increased confidence as she prepared to enter the workforce.
Although Saray initially applied for a receptionist position with Interim HealthCare in Clinton, she was ultimately hired as a CNA with the opportunity to also assist in the lab. This is especially meaningful because healthcare is exactly where Saray wanted to begin her career.
Before completing her exit from the program, SENPH staff reflected with Saray on the progress she had made throughout her journey. Watching her grow from a high school senior pursuing two healthcare credentials into a high school graduate, credentialed young professional, and now an employee working within her chosen career pathway has been an incredibly rewarding part of serving her.
Saray’s story demonstrates what can happen when opportunity, supportive services, staff assistance, family sacrifice, and personal determination come together. She has overcome significant financial barriers without allowing them to determine the outcome of her future. SENPH is proud to have been part of her journey and looks forward to seeing all that she accomplishes as she continues building her career.
Congratulations to Saray on successfully completing this chapter and beginning the next one in her healthcare career. Her success is truly something worth celebrating.
